    JOB SUMMARY


    VTC Cameroon is seeking a perfectly , talented and engaged intern or trainee who wants to develop beyond the classroom & build a rewarding career in managing people.

    Our HR Intern/trainee shall work with our external partners ( both online: in Cameroon & offline: abroad) to ;

    • Determine a strategic human resource plan for VTC

    • Hire and retain the best talent, as well as offering competitive pay.

    • Brainstorm with the entire company( management especially )  to putting in place a great VTC culture that's inclusive, that everyone will be proud of.

    • Update/standardized and ensure our employee handbook and training programs are effective.

    • Set up effective evaluation processes

    • Comply with human resources requirements and laws.

    • Get set up with the best HR software and systems for VTC

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Get instructions from Management and VTC’s human resource consultants on how to go about ensuring VTC’s human resource is put into use.

    • With the supervision of VTC Management & VTC’s HR Consultants determining VTC Human Resource needs like new skills, developing new profiles, job announcements, etc.

    • With the supervision of VTC Management & VTC’s HR Consultants Schedule interviews and initiate background checks.

    • With the supervision of VTC Management & VTC’s HR Consultants Schedule New Hire Orientations.

    • With the supervision of VTC Management & VTC’s HR Consultants deploying suitable HR Systems for VTC Cameroon.

    • All HR Documentations  & filings

    • Ensure ensure stakeholders are familiar with company policies, code of conduct, employee handbook,etc.

    • Handle HR issues with the help of management & VTC’s human resource consultants.

    • Manage I-9’s to ensure that all documents are up to date.

    • Assist in keeping the office organized.

    • Ensure effective payroll is setup , every compensation is paid on time duly, etc.


    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES


    You will bring the following knowledge, skills and abilities to the internship:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to prepare written correspondence/reports

    • Excellent Microsoft Word, Outlook ,Excel, online tools like ( emails, google drive,. etc.) skills and ability to design and maintain spreadsheets/databases

    • Ability to gather and correlate human resources data/metrics

    • Extremely high ability to maintain confidentiality

    • Ability to work under professional pressure

    • Ability to manage, motivate & build people with different background, believes, skills, learning curves, etc.

    • Ability to harness the different expertise to developing great teams for different departments of the company

    • Ability to correlate and analyze data/metrics

    • Ability to develop recommendations and/or solutions based on data/metrics

    • Learn to perform salary market research using key demographic indicators

    • Understanding of human resources principles

    • Work requires a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

    • Strong work-ethic and service mindset.

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

    • Ability to professionally handle confidential and highly sensitive information with discretion

    • Work requires analytical abilities sufficient to prepare expense statements and travel vouchers, diagnose employee conflicts, and balance judgements, activate punishments, etc.

    • Work requires typing, composing, proofing, filing, entering data into Windows, MAC-based computer network, maintaining records, following up on details and meeting deadlines.

    IDEAL CANDIDATE


    • Intern/Trainee candidate must be in their final year or even graduated from at least an HND or Degree.

    • Majors in HR, Business, Business Admin, or Organizational Development preferred

    • Candidate must be bilingual

    • Candidate must be at least 20 years old and have a complete clue( or an at least understanding ) cameroon labor law.

    • Have working tools like laptop, smartphone, etc.

    COMPENSATION & DURATION

    1. Allowance:

      1. Transport allowance: To be discussed only to qualified applicants

    2. Stipend: Based on your performance at the end of the internship period

    3. Attestation & recommendation both from VTC Cameroon and one of the top HR’s in the country.
